I am an experienced and qualified teacher of Maths, English, Spanish, Italian and Latin.
I have two degrees: one from the Open University in Psychology and the other from The University of Genoa (Italy) in Philosophy and Classics.
I have studied Spanish at Six Form Colleges in the UK and I have kept the language alive by visiting Spanish speaking Counties and talking /writing to friends in Spain and South America.
I teach Maths (GCSE Higher level) in a secondary school in Reading, so I have an updated and enhanced DBS certificate.
I have tutored hundreds of students at Common Entrance, Scholarships, 11+, GCSE and A level examinations. I have also taught English to students that have English as a second language as well as undergraduates, adults and mature students.
At the moment I teach part-time Maths and at a secondary school in Reading; I am therefore up to date with the syllabus and curriculum of every subject I teach, including the new GCSE specification (9-1).
Because I have a degree in psychology, I am aware of the difficulties that some students encounter as a a result of low self esteem, anxiety, dyslexia, dyscalculia, school phobia etc. and I am able to help them improve in their personal life and academic performance.
I have been a teacher for many decades but I still have the enthusiasm and commitment to create a stimulating and inspirational environment for my students in order to communicate to them my love for the subjects I teach.
