Florian

Hello, I am a Yale alumni with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (and a minor in Psychology) and recently completed my Master's of Fine Arts in acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). I graduated from my German high school with a virtually perfect German Abitur score—focusing on Politics, Languages, Biology, Mathematics and History—and maintained an “A”-average throughout university. During that time I also completed two semester exchanges at the Sorbonne University (Paris IV) and Sciences Po in Paris, as well as a one-year acting program at Cours Florent in Paris. I am bilingual German/English and used to be a competitive football player, during which time in won the state championship, travelled with my state’s all-star team and was invited to the try-outs for the German U-17 national team.

I am friendly, focused, open-minded and reliable. I have a fair share of experience with elite education, competitive sports, drama and language learning.

Tutoring Experience

I originally started out by teaching German at my university, based on mouth-to-mouth recommendations, before starting to also teach English, Maths, Biology, Drama and study skills for a range of students and skill levels. I have since taught pre-prep school children, GCSE & IGCSE, German MSA, A-Levels and adult learners, and continue to learn how to be help them achieve their goals.

Tutoring Approach

I tailor my teaching to every student's needs and goals, meaning that I am very happy to provide a casual learning environment for joyful exploration or a more outcome-oriented approach. I do believe that learning can and should ultimately bring joy with it, or at the very least a solid sense of accomplishment. We all love to learn, we just need to find the way that works and makes the most sense for us.
