Hey, I’m Priya, I'm known by my middle name.
I am currently based at Oxford University as a researcher in maternal health using mixed methods approach. I am due to complete my PhD in Health Psychology at Teesside University. I held other roles there as a part-time lecturer teaching the core Psychology modules and worked as a research assistant in Public Health.
I am a friendly and dedicated tutor keen on supporting psychology student's with their academic work.
I hold a first-class honours degree in BSc Psychology & Counselling and a Master’s in Health Psychology. I am trained at Masters level to write both critically and academically whilst conducting research.
I have been tutoring privately on this platform for a number of years as well as lecture part time for undergraduate psychology students at my university.
The following areas I tutor in:
- qualitative research
- essay writing
- structuring reports
- critical analysis/writing
- study skills
- health psychology theory/model
NOT: SPSS/Quantitative research.
Everybody learns differently. I take my time to understand how my student responds to my creative, ‘outside the box’ style of teaching. I use my own creative analogies and multimedia materials to visually demonstrate different concepts to explain. From there I tailor my tutoring to whatever suits my student. A key way to learning is being proactive and independent, I set small, relevant tasks to push my students, encouraging them to learn outside of my tutoring for the best results, offering clear feedback along the way.
I am relatively flexible with the delivery of my tutoring sessions. Currently, all my lessons are delivered online until further notice.
