I am a very experienced, very friendly and highly flexible tutor and have worked with students of all ages and abilities with excellent results. I also have extensive formal teaching experience in some of the UK’s best schools. I hold a degree in English Literature and Language from Oxford and an MA in Shakespeare Studies from The Shakespeare Institute in Stratford where I graduated with a Distinction. I have been very effective at helping students get results regardless of ability including those students who require learning support.

Tutoring Experience

I have a huge wealth of tutoring experience with clients with outstanding results in both English Literature and English Language, and in addition I am a fully trained teacher with ten year’s experience. I gained my teaching qualifications in 2012 when I completed the Graduate Teacher Program with an 'Outstanding' grade and I am qualified for secondary teaching in the state and independent sector. I have taught all the A-Level Boards, and have a very detailed knowledge of many of the key texts.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in a friendly, approachable and enthusiastic approach to tutoring. Making the subject enjoyable and accessible is central to my approach, and I believe that students have normally enjoyed classes as well as having learned in them. I do set homework and can offer tests and mock exams to demonstrate progress for parents. Most clients have either one and a half or two hours per week but I could do as much or as little tutoring as was required upon negotiation.
