Home Tuition for French and Spanish in Bexhill-on-Sea

I am a French/Spanish qualified teacher, experienced tutor, and examiner. I teach both school students, home educated students, and adults in person or via the internet. As a French native speaker, I am bilingual French English, and speak/read/write Spanish. Born and educated in France, I hold a master’s degree in English literature from Lyon University.

Tutoring Experience

I have more than twenty years experience teaching French and Spanish in state schools. I have been a Director of Learning for five years. As such, my role was to:
- lead a team of teachers,
- research/develop/adapt new material to suit learners of different levels and ability,
- have an in-depth knowledge of all exam requirements and skills for GCSE and A Level.

I have an absolute passion for teaching and have recently chosen to teach in school part-time. This gives me the time to focus on exploring and developing further my in-person and on-line tutoring.

Tutoring Approach

Teaching groups of learners in a classroom and one-to-one individuals involves a different approach. I use a wide variety of material and techniques to suit every learning style and provide a more tailored experience. Consequently, my students progress at a faster pace, and those who are preparing for exams achieve higher results.

My tutees have consistently improved by 2 or 3 grades at GCSE or A Level. Many have achieved 9s at GCSE.

Last year, I was particularly proud of a year 10 student with Autism who had got a grade 3 at his mock exams. This student passed his GCSE with a grade 7. In this case, parental support was crucial to his success.

At primary school level, parents may choose a formal approach to help a young learner get ready to take an early GCSE. Alternatively, you may be looking for a more casual introduction to a new language and culture, involving communication games. I can happily provide both.

For casual adult learners, the lessons can be adapted to your requirements. My suggestion would be that at beginner’s level lessons would focus on developing the confidence to speak and communicate in the foreign language. On the other hand, more advanced learners might enjoy debating current affair related topics of their choice.

Please note that my tutoring is not limited to one-to-one. You are welcome to get in touch as a pair or a small group for lessons in person or on-line.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss your needs. I look forward to hearing from you.
