Online Psychology Tutoring

I am an experienced, knowledgable, kind tutor that works professionally as an Organisational Psychologist. I use psychology to improve the working lives of many people. I am very passionate about many aspects of Psychology (not just within the workplace) but most of all, I am motivated to support students through their Psychology exams.

I tutor Psychology at GCSE, A-Level, and University level, as well as adults or other students with a keen interest in the subject.

Important information:

1) I offer an introductory session where we meet each other, discuss the subject, and create a plan going forward. This is also an opportunity to ask as many questions as you'd like. Parents are welcome to join on this call too. This session is up to 30 minutes in duration and is free of charge.

2) I am currently accepting new students in prep for 2024 exams.

Availability:
I have very limited availability now and am only able to take new students on who are available to be flexible as I do not have any weekly evening slots. I experience, as with every other tutor, many reschedules and cancellations so I am always able to fit students in, but the days/timings will vary. Please contact me for more information.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced tutor that has helped students achieve at least one grade above their current working grade.

GCSE
I have experience tutoring students from up and down the country in both the AQA and Edexcel exam boards. Many students that come to me have a solid grasp of the subject but for some reason are not achieving their desired grades when they are returned their in-class tests and mocks. Together, we will be working through the course content, whilst putting a significant emphasis on the exam technique in order to snatch up as many marks as possible in the exam. All of the GCSE students that have come to me have achieved at least one grade higher than their current working grade - achieving grades 5-9. Students that begin working with me before the beginning of Year 11 have achieved grades 8-9. If your child is not thinking of selecting Psychology for A-Level by the end of our time working together, I haven't done my job (joke)!

A-Level
I have significant experience in supporting A-Level students with the AQA and Edexcel exam boards. This year, I have began tutoring the Eduqas and International Cambridge syllabuses too. Psychology is a really unique subject, requiring a mix of factual knowledge (like science), debating skills (like English), and independent critical creative thinking. It is often an overlooked subject and many students don't prioritise it. Most of the time, students come to me with a solid grasp on most topics (of course with holes) but are not achieving their desired grades. At A-Level, it is very important to begin thinking like a Psychologist - mixing those scientific, artistic and argumentative skills together. Not being able to do effectively, is likely the reason their evaluation (AO3) is poor and have difficulty grabbing good amounts of marks in exam questions.Together, we will work through the different topics, learning how to think like a Psychologist and apply all of this to exam questions. Exam technique can be the difference between a C and an A! Every A-Level student I have tutored has achieved at least one grade above their mock grades - achieving grades A*-C and students who began working with me before or at the beginning of year 13 have achieved at least an A. I sat my A-Level Psychology exams not too long ago - albeit longer than I care to admit - and therefore I deeply understand and sympathise. Psychology is a really tricky subject and I am here to make it a lot lot easier.

University
Do you need help with a particular assignment? Perhaps you need support to nail critical and concise academic psychological writing in order to smash your dissertation? I support many university students in various ways. In the first instance, I would encourage you to utilise your university's support systems. You are paying a lot of money to study at the institution and your tutors and student support teams should help you on specific tasks. Such as, if you don't understand what you need to do for an assignment or you have specific questions relating to that assignment, for example, "do I need to include an analysis in this section?", then those questions are probably better directed to the assignment setter (your module leader). Alternatively, you should find some answers in your module handbook. Then, if you get your answer and you're unsure how to actually proceed, that's when I can help you. I support a variety of university level students on a regular and ad-hoc basis. In addition, I am happy to independently read-over work and mark it with feedback for £15 per hour. Send me a message and we can discuss how I can help you.

Tutoring Approach

As a Psychologist, I understand individual differences. I constantly seek new methods and adapt current styles of teaching to suit each individual person to ensure they achieve the most out of each session.

I use a range of resources depending on the subject. For GCSE and A-Level, I utilise visual stimulation through powerpoints and sharing screens.

My lessons can be structured or loose depending on what you or your child are struggling with/would like to focus on, but most importantly they are engaging.

I have high expectations of students and I encourage them to have high expectations of themselves. A can-do attitude is super important and I strive to improve their confidence as well as their academic abilities.

As you can see, my prices are affordable as I try to make my tutoring as accessible as possible. Please note, I do not devalue my services by offering discounts.

I really look forward to working with you / your child!
