I’m an experienced primary school teacher, having taught for 10 years in London, in both state and independent schools and tutored for over 8 years. I have taught all primary age groups in KS1 and KS2.
In addition to teaching the curriculum to children aged 5-11 yrs, I also tutor for the ISEB, 7+, 11+ and 13+ exams.
Whether a child has gaps in their knowledge or encounters stumbling blocks or just needs a confidence boost, I provide stimulating and engaging sessions in English and Maths.
It is very satisfying to witness my students gain in confidence so quickly with personal tutoring.
The children I have taught have a 100% success rate for their chosen school. These include Kings College School, Brighton College, Dulwich College, King Edwards, Surbiton, Wimbledon and Putney High.
Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning are all subjects I teach, plus exam coaching and interview technique.
I strongly believe that building confidence is key. Tapping into what interests a pupil is so important, and positive praise is essential for a good rapport. After an initial assessment, I can start to work on weaknesses and pinpoint areas for improvement. I use a variety of resources and working through past papers is necessary for entrance exams. Discussing the child’s work with parents is also very important.
I NOW OFFER GROUP SESSIONS, GROUPED BY AGE/ ABILITY (these costs are lower than for 1:1).
