I have an MA in English Literature from Warwick University, a BA in English from Lancaster University, and an MMus In Music Performance from Kingston University. I've also trained as an actor for 6 years at The City Lit, The Impulse Company, Third Person Theatre and PEM in London and Hamburg.
I teach English, Language and Literature from KS1 up to graduate level, Modern Greek and Pop Singing.
With regards to English tuition, I specialize in GCSE and A level English, as well as in academic and creative writing. I also offer copy-writing, copy-editing and proofreading services.
I'm bilingual and have been teaching Modern Greek for the past 15 years.
I've also been an active performer, singer and songwriter for more than 15 years. I hold an MA in Music Performance (for which I was awarded the music prize, and distinction). My vocal tuition includes:
• Breathing exercises
• Extending your singing range
• Creating character expression
• Maintaining vocal health
• Building confidence in performance
• Microphone technique
In addition to vocal coaching, I also offer songwriting sessions and creative coaching.
My experience in the education sector spans a period of more than 10 years, since 2003. Amongst other placements, I have worked for three years as a part-time English lecturer at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, teaching academic writing, creative writing and research skills. I have also taught English at The Grammar School in Nicosia, Cyprus. For the past 10 years I have been teaching part-time at a private college in South-West London alongside my private tuition services.
I have extensive editorial experience, having worked as copy editor for three years for View Magazine, an English publication in Cyprus. I was also editor of a newsletter produced by The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (NGO) in Cyprus, as part of my project administration and management role there from September 2006 to February 2008. In addition, I was co-editor of the publication Dialogues of Self and Other, sponsored by the Anna Lindh Foundation, in 2008.
My work as freelance writer, translator, proofreader and editor is ongoing; I have contributed material for publications and consumer product websites since 2005, and have published short stories, poetry and articles in the UK, Cyprus, France, Egypt and Spain.
As an active singer/songwriter, and actor, I also offer vocal tuition and songwriting courses as well as performance guidance.
I have a very high success rate with my students who tend to show a marked improvement in their areas of study and successfully pass their exams, in many cases, with high grades. I provide tailor-made, well-structured lessons for each of my students. I am patient and I believe in my students' individual abilities and talents -- always with the aim of helping them reach their learning goals.
I mainly teach in Charlton/Westcombe Park area (SE7).
However, I sometimes also travel to students' homes. My rate varies slightly depending on travel requirements.
My weekly schedule varies. Please get in touch for more details.
All cancellations must be received (via telephone call, text or email) at least 48 hours prior to an agreed lesson time, in order to avoid forfeiting the lesson and being charged. Clients who cancel with less than 48hours' notice will be charged for the cancelled session. If a client does not show for an agreed lesson, the client will be charged.

|Tutees Providing Positive Feedback:|
She is very structured and prepared in her teaching, going out of her way to provide 'take away' mp3 audio dialogs of common conversation, as well as scans of text books and links for popular Greek lyrical music. All to help with revision and initiation into Greek culture. Zivania!
She is also very accommodating in her availability which fits around my working pattern and always communicates in good time if there are any changes or upcoming lessons to remind you.
I am quite a shy person/speaker, but I find myself to be getting ever more comfortable in sessions with Eleni, which I'm sure will build my confidence to read and to speak in Greek one day.
I would highly recommend Eleni.
Very well organized, excellent teacher, very entertaining but disciplined as well.
He loves his time with Eleni and instantly warmed to her friendly and personable nature.
The best decision i ever made… :0)
She is very professional, sincere, always responded to me when I needed her help. The suggestion and encouragement I received from her have helped me a lot with my personal development. I would highly recommend her for any students of any discipline, because I believe she has the knowledge, ability and passion to teach.
