I hold an MA in English Literature from the University of Warwick and a BA in English from Lancaster University, alongside an MMus (Distinction, Music Prize) in Music Performance from Kingston University London.
I am also a trained actor and professional musician, having completed extensive acting training in London and Hamburg and worked across performance, voice, and creative writing for over 15 years. This creative background significantly informs my teaching of literature, helping students engage more deeply with character, voice, structure and interpretation.
I specialise in GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature, with particular expertise in essay structure, close textual analysis, exam technique, and both academic and creative writing. I work closely with students to develop clarity of argument, precision of expression, and confidence in crafting sophisticated written responses. I also support undergraduate students with coursework, dissertations, and advanced writing skills, including editing and refinement of extended academic work
Alongside English tuition, I have over 15 years’ experience teaching Modern Greek, and I offer vocal coaching and songwriting mentoring for students interested in performance and creative development.
I teach online and work with students across the UK and internationally.
I have been tutoring English Language and Literature since 2009, working with students from KS2 through to A-Level and undergraduate level. Many of my students show significant grade improvement, particularly at GCSE and A-Level, through structured exam preparation and targeted feedback.
In addition to tutoring, I have extensive experience as a writer, editor and proofreader, supporting academic essays, university applications and professional writing.
My teaching is consistent, structured and results-focused, while remaining supportive and tailored to the individual student.
My teaching is structured, focused and tailored to each individual student. Every lesson is carefully planned around clear objectives, with detailed written feedback and specific next steps provided after sessions.
I focus on developing:
• Analytical depth and independent thinking
• Strong essay structure and persuasive argument
• Confident exam technique and time management
• Precision, clarity and sophistication in writing
For students working on creative writing, I support the development of voice, originality and control of form, while ensuring technical accuracy and structure remain strong.
