This is how 2 referees rated Eileen:
I am a recently retired teacher from Stewarton,Ayrshire.Since retiring,I have been tutoring pupils of varying ages and abilties and am thoroughly enjoying helping them grow in confidence and ability.
I have been a Primary School teacher for 30 years.During that time I have had experience teaching pupils of all abilities.I have worked closely with learning support teachers in order to help dyslexic children, children with ADHD and other learning disabilities.I have also spent some time assisting more able pupils to reach their full potential.
Having only recently retired,I am obviously very familiar with the principles of A Curriculum for Excellence.I am fully trained in Critical Skills,Reciprocal Reading,Big Writing and Thinking Skills and have used these extensively in the classroom.
My approach varies according to the needs and capabilities of the child but I believe that I provide a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment. In my experience, many children lack the basic skills in language and maths. These are vital to their progress and I feel that my particular strength is building these skills in a way that is both motivating and fun for the child.
I provide a detailed monthly report on lessons given, progress made and the next steps in learning and am readily available to discuss any issues which arise.
I have had a very busy year and have had no spaces for tutoring for some time. However, several of my pupils will no longer require tutoring after the summer so I will be taking on new clients from the end of June onwards.
