I am about to finish my PhD in pure mathematics at UCL in London, where my focus has been on Geometry and Algebra.
I studied my undergraduate and master's degree in maths at Warwick university.
In school, I took part in Olympiads, as well as doing futher maths GCSE and A Level.
I have been running an after school maths club for year 12 students for the last three years, which has met with great success and positive feedback. This has also been a very rewarding experience for me and I look forward to more opportunities to help GCSE and A level students.
Prior to this, I tutored undergraduate students at Warwick, as well as running seminars and tutorials for larger groups.
My first teaching experience was as a sailing instructor, working one on one and in small groups of all ages.
Mathematics is more about practising a certain style of thinking than learning a lot of information. I believe anyone is capable of training their brains in this way, and I want to help people to find the approach that is right for them, and suddenly makes those puzzles click into place.
I enjoy working out the way to explain something complex in simple manners, and tailoring that explanation to the individual and their learning style. I am very happy to work with students of all levels, as I believe maths is for everyone.
