Edward

I am a freelance tutor with experience working at schools across primary and secondary level on a 1:1 and class environment. I have particular experience working with children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), on a 1:1 and group basis.

I have a First Class BA degree in English from the University of Bristol, and I have recently completed an MA degree in Comparative Literature at King’s College London with Distinction.

I also work as a professional actor.

In my free time I enjoy drawing, going to exhibitions and playing tennis!

Tutoring Experience

I have experience working with and supporting children across primary and secondary ages.

I have recently worked on a 1:1 and group basis supporting children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), and I am currently working at a school doing exam prep with small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

I have also taught children aged 6-16 years in Drama and Musical Theatre and I have completed a Teach English as a Foreign Language Qualification (TEFL).

Tutoring Approach

My time working at schools across a range of ages and abilities has taught me that every student has their own way of understanding a subject, and this is what underpins my sessions.

In the first session, I’ll discuss with the student any areas of the subject they are finding challenging and would like help with, before making a plan for the upcoming weeks / months.

I am conscious of the stress and anxiety that can accompany academic study. My approach is aimed at alleviating this.

If any of this sounds like it could be useful for you, and you would like to discuss tutoring (in person or online) please do get in touch.
