I am a fully qualified teacher and journalist with experience as a GCSE examiner.

Tutoring Experience

I have 29 years' teaching experience, having taught English and History at lower school, GCSE and A-level in schools in both the private and public sector. I am an ex-Head of History and Religious Studies at an independent school. Throughout this period I have tutored on a one-to-one basis.

Tutoring Approach

My extensive experience teaching for all the main qualification board examinations, and my close knowledge of exam requirements as an examiner, allow me to tailor my tutoring to helping students achieve the best possible results in public examinations.

I am a supportive and good humoured tutor who makes every effort to ensure that learning is enjoyable and productive. I reflect carefully on each student's strengths and weaknesses and plan an approach which best helps the student.
