This is how 3 referees rated Dawn:
I have been teaching for 23 years in Unversities, Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges. I have a PGCE in Mathematics with full QTS, Child Safe Guarding Training and a recent Enhanced Criminal Record Check (DBS) ( November 2014).
I work part time in a Secondary School teaching KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) Mathematics and teach a few hours of electronics.
On graduating many years ago I worked successfully as an electronic design engineer and a computer programmer, as a permanent employee and a freelancer.
I joined the world of education when I started a PhD in Electronics, also employed as a Senior Lecturer. I reached and passed the Mphil stage before I became a mother and ever since I have been involved in teaching and training.
I am very passionate about teaching and I like to be very thorough and do a good job. Being a mother I sincerely want the best for children and endeavour to help them in their quest to acheive their goals, whatever they may be.
With lots of recent training I approach each child as an individual, assessing their current position in their learning and build upon that.
My expertise also includes, besides my mathematics knowledge, encouraging and working closely with children who have struggled with maths in the past and determining the best way that they learn; working closely with them and allowing them to actually enjoy the mathematics as well as acheiving their goal.
