With an Upper Second Class Honours Engineering degree, I have a thorough understanding of Maths required in secondary school.

I have had successful feedback from pupils with whom I have worked, who have felt more confident in Maths lessons and exams, and achieved results required.

Tutoring Experience

My experience consists of tutoring several family members and children of acquaintances.

I have worked at the equivalent of SQA National 5 and Higher levels.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in a child-focused approach driven by the pupil’s attitude to the subject matter throughout the course. Early discussion will be focused on the pupil’s needs and required approach. It is important to get the child’s and parents’ buy-in to the approach and content of the tuition experience

Sessions may focus on either basic explanation of maths concepts, exercises or exam type question practice and exam preparation. Sometimes all within one session! The key is to give the child the knowledge and confidence required. From individual sessions and throughout the course.
