This is how 3 referees rated David:
I am a qualified teacher and have taught GCSE and A-level mathematics in schools and colleges. I have a first class degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University and a PhD in Economics from the University of London. I have marked A-level and GCSE for all three main boards. I taught part-time at Verulam School and was a lecturer at West Herts College until redundancy until 2012. Recently I have been helping students with STEP papers and the Oxford MAT exam. I also do some undergraduate and masters degree work. I can teach at the student's home (charging more for travel) or at my home.
I taught A-level Mathematics at Verulam School in St Albans and taught A-level, Access and GCSE mathematics at West Herts College in Watford from 1996 until taking redundancy. I was also course tutor and teacher of mathematics, statistics and quantitative techniques on the H.E. programmes of the University of Hertfordshire based at the college.
I have a sympathetic yet challenging approach, helping weaker students at point of need but also engaging with the abler ones. Feedback and success rates tell me I am a good tutor
