I teach all three sciences at GCSE level, and chemistry and geology at A' level. I have developed a comprehensive set of learning resources and materials I share with the student via online storage and file sharing (files are in pdf for compatibility). I also maintain a private Discord server for each subject I teach. This is typically where tuition takes place if not "in person". Students can access course information and support materials there, in addition to communications.
I have 10 years teaching experience in mainstream schools. I have worked in mixed, all boys and all girls schools. I have worked in the state maintained and the independent sector schools. My most recent experience has been working part-time at an very well respected independent school and privately tutoring. Clients range from the local authorities, individuals, foster care management companies etc.
I support a range of students including those with additional needs. For example I have been tutoring blind, autistic, dyslexic and those with cognitive speech and language difficulties. Students in the care system often have SEMH issues which I work around. I would say I have a diverse range of experience that would qualify me to tutor students in most situations.
Here is a list of subjects I can support you with:
GCSE Biology 1-9 (AQA, OCR & Cambridge IGCSE)
GCSE Chemistry 1-9 (AQA, OCR & Cambridge IGCSE)
GCSE Physics 1-9 (AQA, OCR & Cambridge IGCSE)
A' level Chemistry (AQA & OCR)
GCSE Geography (AQA, OCR, Edexcel & Cambridge IGCSE)
A' level Geography (AQA, OCR & Edexcel)
GCSE Geology (OCR & WJEC)
A' level Geology (OCR & WJEC)
GCSE Environmental Management (Cambridge IGCSE)
My approach is imaginative, but structured. I make use of the most up to date resources, focussing on the specification the student is studying. I understand the pedagogy of teaching and carefully prepare sessions ahead of time, which are engaging and tailored to match the individual needs of the student. Feedback on progress is given at regular intervals, or upon request.
