I am an experienced examiner and teacher for over 30 years offering tutoring at KS3, GCSE and A-level Biology.
I specialise in exam technique for both GCSE and A Level Biology to make the student understand the concepts and biological process and their applications as well as working intensely to raise students’ grades.
My experience of working as an Examiner for GCSE and A Level Biology helps me focus students on the technique required to get the grades.
As well as tutoring at home, I also tutor online which gives more flexibility to students (digital resources are provided).
As well as weekly sessions I also offer a series of intensive tutoring sessions when required.
I am currently available weekday evenings and weekends.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive teaching experience at KS3, GCSE and A-level Biology
I am a Biology teacher and have over 30 years experience of teaching Biology at all levels from KS3 to Higher Education. I am also an examiner for GCSE and A-level Biology in the UK and abroad. As a result of this I have a very good knowledge of all the examinable content and coursework components for all levels.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching philosophy is student-centred. Tutoring should always be student led and this is the philosophy I employ, which I have found to be very effective in retaining the knowledge and its application.
As an experienced teacher, I have adapted the teaching style of being very flexible and personalising my teaching methods/materials tailored to the student needs. I have found that going over an area of the content, explaining the difficult concepts/areas and complex processes as well as going through the examination style questions is very effective. The objective is to build confidence and skills with a view to improving examination performance.
