I have been a maths tutor for 11 years. Prior to that I was an accountant working in industry for 15 years, managing the company's money across many European countries and using maths on a daily practical basis. I was the tutor to a young actor working on an ITV comedy programme set in Spain (2013 & 2014). I encourage my students to believe in themselves, and get the results their hard work deserves.

Tutoring Experience

I am a tutor working at a girls' secondary school in Hull since February 2014, tutoring maths one to one or one to two/three for years 10 and 11 as required, but have taught students in years 7,8 and 9 as well.
I was the tutor for a young actor working on an ITV comedy set in Spain in 2013 and 2014.
I tutor privately for maths GCSE, and have also worked one to one with learners in Adult education.
All my students that took their GCSE exams whilst under my tuition at Summer 2023 (the last main sitting) passed their exams - ie grade 4 or higher.

Tutoring Approach

I teach online and in-person, using PDF Annotator on a laptop, which makes it easy for the student to work on the different questions. I email everything that has been covered in the lesson on a PDF, which is helpful for future review and revision.
I have a patient approach, and am happy to use different methods where appropriate to help in their understanding of the many different topics required for GCSE.
