Overall winner of Surrey Awards 2023. Pre-assessment needed to determine if i will take on your child. I am a caring and talented entrance exam specialist of 8 years and previous teacher and assistant head of state and private schools of 10 years. The last school i taught at was the highly regarded Lady Eleanor Holles school. I am a finalist for 7 awards this year, including 'Primary Tutor Of The Year' from the Tutors' Association. I taught year 6 maths which was at a very high level at this school and my passion for English ensures that i teach writing and comprehension to the highest standard. I have experience of teaching all year groups from reception to year 6 in the primary sector and know the national curriculum very well.
My experience and expertise are priceless and all my students get the school of their choice if parents take my advice and make sure they have regular lessons, including mocks. My reputation for great teaching has meant that i have opportunities to write about education and well-being for media outlets such as The Independent and The Telegraph.
I have tutored hundreds of children for entrance exams and they have all been accepted if they have had regular lessons, which builds secure consistency and momentum, and if their parents have taken my advice.
My experience is varied and thorough. Since leaving teaching eight years ago, i have invested a lot into learning even more to give my students the best experience. Coaching is imperative to great teaching and i am a qualified and experienced coach, so you are getting a range of services in one.
Tutoring doesn't have to been pressurised. In fact, a holistic, coaching approach has been proven to be better for children in the short-term because they retain more information and the long-term to enhance confidence and well-being. This is the approach that i provide and i get top success year on year. I provide a clear five-step framework for all my students to follow, which includes plugging academic gaps, repetition and consolidation and building on skills to extend learning. I also provide parents with an overview of the entrance exam curriculum to help them to see where the journey is going. I am a tutor like no other. I also provide a consultation service, which includes regular feedback, extra homework and finding information regarding resources and schools. I am also a qualified coach and therapist to aid with more deeper obstacles that may be inhibiting learning, such as anxiety. I also work with neurodivergent students. Neurodiversity includes conditions such as dyslexia and ADHD.
