I am a KS1 and KS2 fully qualified primary-trained teacher with a Masters in Education. I am a Deputy Headteacher and support the teaching in Year 6 in a school in East London; I have also worked in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. I have a proven track record of delivering accelerated progress across all subjects in KS1 and KS2.
I completed a PGCE in primary teaching in London and did my BA in Economics. I am able to offer individual or small group tuition in maths and English (both reading and writing). I was an Assistant Examiner for Cambridge Primary Examinations, marking English reading, writing and SPaG papers. I have many years of experience in private tuition and look forward to taking on and helping new students.
I have a Saturday morning slot at 11.45am recently opened up and ideally this would be in Walthamstow or close by.
I currently support the teaching in Year 6 and I am a Deputy Headteacher in a school in East London; I have also worked in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. I have worked with a wide variety of children, including those with English as an additional language and those with special educational needs. I understand that children can be left behind due to any number of issues in class, and a lot of my work involves boosting such children to the level expected for their year group. My approach is to build their confidence in their learning and to help them to achieve their full potential. I have also worked extensively with the most able, facilitating accelerated progress across all subject areas, enabling pupils to gain entrance to selective private and grammar schools.
I was also a marker for Cambridge Primary Examinations where I mark Year 6 reading, writing and SPaG exams. This has enabled me to gain a full and thorough understanding of what is required to succeed in the exams and I have found this experience invaluable in my role as a teacher.
I believe that learning should be engaging and interactive and that children should make accelerated progress even within a one hour lesson. I have developed a range of teaching styles and techniques to cater for a wide variety of pupils to ensure that consistent progress is made. I am happy to teach in one or two hour slots, splitting sessions with 50% English and 50% Maths work. Weekends and weekday evenings are both possible, depending on current students.
