I have a degree in Classics & Philosophy from Oxford University along with extensive tutoring experience. I am very enthusiastic about my subjects, and aim to pass that enthusiasm on to my students. I know it can be difficult to enjoy a subject you're struggling with at school, but I believe that enjoyment and improvement go hand in hand, so I make it a priority to re-inspire students who may feel deflated about the subject they need help with.

I am from a big family of seven children, with ages ranging from 13 to 31, so I feel comfortable communicating with every age group!

Tutoring Experience

I have had extensive tutoring experience since 2016 with a wide range of ages (8-40). I have tutored 24 different students in Philosophy, English Literature, Ancient Greek, Latin, Classical Art & Architecture, and Classical Literature.

I am currently focusing on teaching the subjects I am most enthusiastic about: Philosophy, Latin, and Classical Civilisation. I can also help students prepare for the Oxford entrance exam (CAT) and the Oxford interview process.

Tutoring Approach

I take an interactive approach to tutoring, asking my students questions throughout the lesson to ensure they are keeping up. For Classical subjects, I like to relate what we're learning to the modern day to enhance its relevance. For languages, regular (but not extensive) testing is key to learning. However, being tested does not equal being bored - I am a very lively tutor and I hope my students are always entertained!

The hourly price you see often reflects many more hours of preparation and marking behind the scenes. I have numerous resources which I have developed for teaching, as well as exam-style questions which I can mark according to the syllabus's mark scheme.
