I have recently moved back to my home town of Lancaster to study MA Outdoor and Experiential Learning after two years living and working in Hampshire teaching Photography at an FE college. I love outdoor activities such as running, climbing and mountaineering as well as landscape photography so I am glad to be back up here with the beautiful Lake District on the doorstep!

Tutoring Experience

I am a fully UK qualified secondary teacher with TEFL certificate and 3 years experience teaching English abroad. I have taught learners of all levels and backgrounds both individually and in groups. My clients have ranged from high profile corporate staff learning English for business to casual learners who enjoyed conversation and just want to improve for social reasons. I have two years experience as Course Leader for BTEC Level 3 Photography at an FE college in Hampshire where I was rated outstanding for my teaching by Ofsted.

Tutoring Approach

I am relaxed, patient and like to have a laugh and I always try to make classes as enjoyable as possible for the learner. I am very proud of my versatility as an EFL tutor and my ability to build a rapport with and get the best out of my students by working with their areas of interest. I have a professional approach to my work but my exact teaching methodology depends on the student's background and specific requirements. Despite this, there are certain elements learners can always expect which are as follows: The first lesson will be about establishing the student's level and discussing requirements. this allows me to plan and structure courses and lessons so that the learner gets what they need. At the end of every lesson the student will receive feedback and corrections in written format which will be discussed and can be taken away for the student's reference. All lesson resources will be provided at no extra cost.
