As a dedicated and enthusiastic A-Level teacher and tutor, I am passionate about stretching my students’ potential. I have had the pleasure of teaching Humanities and Social Science disciplines at two excellent sixth form colleges.
Having recently completed a Master's Degree at the University of East Anglia, I now teach History (KS3,4 and 5) and Politics (KS5) at a leading independent day school.
My main specialism is A-Level Politics, having taught many modules from the AQA & Edexcel specifications. I can offer tailored tuition for any aspect of the Politics course, although I have a particular interest in core and non-core political ideas, UK & international governance, and the political power of the USA.
I have additional experience in A-Level History, specialising in modern British topics as well as Russia: 1855-1964.
Having taught at one of the UK's highest performing sixth form colleges, I hold plenty of experience in supporting ambitious students applying for competitive Oxbridge/Russell Group university courses.
I specialise in essay writing skills and how to write critically and evaluatively. These are vital for success in Humanities and Social Science disciplines at undergraduate level, and beyond. Continued practice is crucial, so you can expect my sessions to focus on using taught content from the classroom successfully in an essay.
As an experienced pastoral tutor, I ensure that my students feel both academically challenged and empowered as they prepare for the next steps in their life.
I look forward to supporting you.
