I am a graduate from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in BSc Chemistry. I currently work in a secondary school within Wolverhampton where I teach Science. I have taught a range of modules up to and including GCSE level across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I have acquired extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the subject area and have the passion and relevant expertise to assist the needs of varying levels of learner capability.
As someone who has close affinity with my local educational authorities, I feel I have an excellent understanding of pupils’ culture, community and lifestyles. This relevant association, together with related knowledge of the Midlands area, would be a useful tool for building on relationships through backgrounds and social circumstance.
Whilst working as a Science Teacher I have encouraged, motivated and challenged pupils to work towards reaching their full potential. I have offered support and encouragement to all students to achieve this. This is the eighth year in which I have taught Science to students between the ages of 11-16. I believe in being pro-active in facilitating students to work toward the best of their capacity and ensure that feedback on learner progress is given promptly.
In addition to this, I have experience in tutoring students of ethnic minority backgrounds in order to help develop their English speaking, reading and writing skills.
My approach to tutoring is based around my own experiences of harnessing students to develop further by given detailed attention and dedication to learning processes. I am keen to provide an environment where learners are self motivated and successful through demonstrating awareness and responsibility. To achieve this, I play close attention to structured tests and assessment strategies in order to witness how the tutee is progressing. I am able to set different levels of work to enable all learners, regardless of ability or sociological elements, to ensure they are a success.
