I am a passionate, enthusiastic teacher with 8 years experience in Primary, Secondary and SEN.
I have 8 years classroom teaching experience and have been tutoring for 3 years.
I am currently a Nurture Teacher working with Year 7, 8 and 11 and have spent the last 4 years specialising in nurture/transition work with lower ability and SEN Secondary children.
I have experience of teaching children with a wide range of needs: ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, SPLD, ODD, GDD, poor working memory, schizophrenia and EAL.
I am working towards a Level 3 Accreditation in Dyslexia support with The British Dyslexia Association.
I have worked at 3 Outstanding Secondary Schools in Birmingham and Solihull.
I have been through 2 Ofsted inspections and was graded Good and then Outstanding.
I was trained in and worked as an RE teacher, working with 11-19 year olds.
I have worked as a Key Stage 2 intervention teacher, working on a one-to-one and small group basis with 7-11 year olds.
I have taught a combined Year 3 and 4 class.
I have worked as a whole school Literacy Coordinater.
I am flexible in tutoring and will do my best to accommodate clients.
I am happy to support the completion of homework tasks, revise content from schools, support Year 2 and Year 6 SATS preparation, develop essay writing or exam techniques, teach content to fill any gaps in knowledge or support the development of practical skills to help children with dyslexia or literacy difficulties.
