I am an experienced full-time tutor who specialises in 11+ and GCSE preparation, delivering the highest quality of one-to-one tutoring. My enthusiasm and drive allows my students to view me not only as their subject tutor, but as a role model, friend and ultimately someone who will take a genuine interest in their learning. Bringing together my experience in different schools, along with my extensive tutoring background ensures I am not only qualified and knowledgable about specific curricula, but ready to create a plan that suits your child and your home life.
I grew up in London, and have a passion for the arts, sciences and travel. I trained at Dulwich College and have taught in the independent and state sector, and tutored internationally as well as locally.
Parents play a key role in the support structure of any child, and therefore I like to include them as much as they feel they can, to ensure the best possible outcome. I create a tailored programme for each student, in which progress is monitored to allow parents to be a part of the tuition process. I do this with care, compassion and positivity, and take pride in catering for individual student needs.
Online tutoring is most definitely gaining in popularity, especially with GCSE students, however many parents are not au-fait with how this works. For an in-depth explanation on how this can be beneficial to you, your child's life and more on how it works, please contact me.
I hold the following:
I have tutored over 400 students in the past 12 years, mainly for GCSE or 11+. Each year brings fantastic results and I am yet to have a student dissatisfied with their progress. I do not provide 'quantitative' evidence of my tutoring success, as I don't believe this reflects the full extent of my work; each student has their own goal and individual potential, whether it be to reach a pass or a 90%+ score.
I also run half-term and holiday courses which are usually taken in groups of 4 or 5 and are always popular. These also work out cheaper for everyone and work well in groups of friends.
I hold a full clean enhanced DBS check, and am an approved member of the Tutors' Association. I have also been interviewed by various magazines on the life of a modern-day tutor. I complete regular tuition training including safeguarding, working with dyslexia, child anxiety and confidence issues. I also work closely with schools and psychologists when necessary for those that need all-round support and a streamlined learning and growing process.
Many parents wonder how I may differ from other tutors; this is a mixture of a flexible and friendly personality, empathy, humour and a good dose of reality! I have a work phone and dedicated WhatsApp where I communicate with parents and students (secondary only) in groups and individually to help with homework and check in throughout the week. This is all done free of charge and is part of the overall service I provide.
I have experience with special needs, and completed courses with the British Dyslexia Association including dyslexia, dyspraxia, discalculia and dysgraphia.
I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, and a one-month discontinuation policy either side if tuition is terminated.
When messaging me, please include your ideal availability, confirmation of my fees as listed on this page, confirmation of my cancellation policy and as many details as possible about the situation.
