I am 47 years old and I have lived in London for 25 years. I am graduated from UCL in History of Art and restoration.
I have been teaching children from reception to form 2 for the last 5 years in a Kensington prep school. I also organise art camps during the holiday for children aged 5 to 12. I can help with general homework, help to fix a problem for a few weeks or can prepare for exams (written work and interview technique). I am used to work with children with English as a second language.
5 years as a teaching assistant and art co-ordinator in a prep school (Notting Hill).
3 years as a private French tutor
Art camps during the holidays since 2015
It is a long day for school children, and I generally prefer to approach subjects through play rather than sit them down at a desk when possible
For English, I love doing role play or brainstorming activities,
For maths, I love using every day objects such as measuring tapes, jugs of water to understand measurements as well as real money to play "shop", or cinema timetable to learn reading the time....
For French, games, conversation and songs are really fun and easier to remember.
