My name is Charlie. I'm the director of Education in London Limited. As well as tutoring professionals in the corporate world here in London, I also teach and mentor students through the arduous process of preparing for the infamous 11+ exam, covering English, Maths, and both Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. In addition to this I also tutor English and Spanish from GCSE up to Degree level.
I'm 47 years old and have taught in a wide range of capacities and in a number of countries around the world. I have also written a self-study Spanish course entitled 'Spanish with Carlos' and an English grammar resource book for teachers called 'A Sense of English'.
With excellent interpersonal skills I'm able to build great connections with students of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoy reading, creative writing, sport and travel. I'm living a dream by running my own business here in London.
I'm experienced in tutoring personnel of various financial institutions, including Jump Trading International Ltd (current) and previously the accounting firm Arthur Andersen and a number of Spanish banks.
In the late 1990s I set up and ran my own language school in the UK. The focus was on private tuition of both English as a foreign language and Spanish. I've also taught in Hungary, Spain, South Korea and Turkey, where I was the Assistant Head of the English Department in the country's top private school (TED Ankara College), exam writer and official proof-reader for all the English exams. Two years ago I returned to England to set up my own company offering the aforementioned language services.
Years of experience help me quickly gauge the needs of my tutees and tailor the best approach. It's never exactly the same.
I've worked in mainstream education in England and keep myself informed and up-to-date, which means I am fully familiar with the National Curriculum requirements through the different Key Stages.
