Charlie

Hi! I'm Charlie, I hold Masters degrees in both English and Human Anatomy, with specialisms including the Gothic, Romantic, and Victorian literature. I also hold an Education and Training Level III certificate, and tutor with a passion for English in college/Highers level literature.

My special literary interests lie within poetry, Shakespeare, and the supernatural; however, this list is certainly not exhaustive! I have extensive previous tutoring experience, and have a passion for the subject which I would love to be able to share with you!

I am originally from Leicestershire and relocated to Scotland in 2016. I have worked hard at my education and believe that everyone should have the opportunity and resources to learn and develop to meet their full potential.

Tutoring Experience

I have previous tutoring experience with KS3, GCSE and A-Level students, Nat5, and Highers, and have previously completed 2 terms with the AimHigher programme, working within secondary schools in the North West.

Please note I am not a TEFL tutor and I am not qualified to teach students who speak English as a second language

Tutoring Approach

Patient and expressive. I am passionate about English and the English language and enjoy the intricacies behind a text. I enjoy seeing my students develop academically and learn how to deconstruct and analyse a text - I am happy to tackle any topic necessary and will work to the speed of the learner. I strive to be approachable, patient and enthusiastic in my approach and my sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each student.
