Personal Description:

Currently I am on a career break before hopefully embarking on further studies in the form of a medical degree. I have a Phd in maths from the University of Warwick and an undergraduate master's in maths from the University of Warwick. I have published two papers in international maths journals, had a visiting academic position at New York University, been in receipt of a post graduate scholarship to Cambridge University, graduated with the highest average mark from my undergrad master's at Warwick (and won the maths prize every year it was offered), and achieved 6As at A-level (which was the highest number of grade A A-levels in the country that year) despite teaching myself my additional further maths A-level in 1 year. This year, the first time I have taken the exam, I got 775 in the UKCAT (820 VR, 900 QR, 670 AR, 710 DA) and also completed the GAMSAT with a score of 73 (reading 67, writing 68, science 79). I hold a CRB in the form of an SIA (Security Industry Authority) badge.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked as a private tutor in the past for 5 years and taught at University level whilst completing my Phd. I have had good results in the past helping struggling students to radically improve their level of maths and grades.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a flexible approach to tutoring that takes the student's needs into account. I generally start by checking whether the basic foundation of knowledge is in place and work upwards from there until I reach the level of topics that the student is no longer confident with and we work from there to improve the student's level of knowledge usually involving some homework for the student between sessions.
