I am a dedicated and passionate Secondary School Modern Foreign Languages teacher. I love teaching and using different techniques and activities to help students feel confident and competent in their langauge learning. I believe a good tutor can reinforce classroom learning and give students security in what they have been taught.

Tutoring Experience

As an outstanding teacher and head of department I have been teaching for over 10 years and am fully up to date with the new requirements for GCSE and A Level. I have taught native speakers and talented linguists to achieve a top grades at GCSE and A level, whilst also working with more reluctant linguists to achieve grades they had thought were impossible. Students have gone on to getting 9s at GCSE, A*s at A level, studying languages at university and working abroad.

Tutoring Approach

We would work together to build confidence and achieve potential, ironing out problem areas and working on study techniques.
Closer to exam season we would work on revision techniques and little tips for the exams, grade boosting phrases and more sophisticated language. This is especially key to build confidence in the speaking and writing; and attention to detail for reading and listening.
