I am a friendly and approachable teacher with a passion for education and learning. I enjoy helping people on a one to one basis as I can help them to build their confidence which often leads to an increase in their motivation and academic abilities. I am a prompt, professional and reliable Teacher with a long track record of being able to create a positive learning environment in order to maximise the education and learning of students.

I always follow lesson plans. I possess superb communication skills that can build up rapport easily with students. I am pragmatic and results orientated, always striving to exceed the standards of performance set out in any learning environment.

I am caring and sensitive to the needs of students. I am encouraging and patient with students.
I have several years experience in Nursing, Social Services, Education and the Voluntary and Community Sector which I bring into my teaching. I am also a competent administrator.

Tutoring Experience

I have completed the Award in Education and Training and the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
I have taught Health and Social Care, Psychology, English as a Second Language (ESOL) and Study Skills.
I have evaluated a student's classwork and assignments and prepared classroom and coursework materials.
I have observed students and written reports on their progress.
I am computer literate, I have met deadlines and I have good organisational, planning and problem solving skills.
I have a current DBS which is on the update service.

Tutoring Approach

I see potential in everyone and I think that tutoring provides the opportunity to bring out the best in each student. It also allows students to grow in confidence and enjoy leaning. I have motivated and stretched the more able students and encouraged those who are struggling. I do an initial assessment before I teach a student so that I can tailor the lesson to them. I also assess them during each lesson and inform them of how they are doing.
