Hi, I’m Calum! I’ve been teaching Maths for 5 years, working both abroad and in the UK. I studied Maths and Statistics at University and particularly enjoy teaching higher achieving students who are aiming for top universities.

Tutoring Experience

2 years teaching in Russia, working at state and private schools.
2 years teaching in the UK, working at a private school teaching both A level and IB.
I have been tutoring for around 5 years in total, working with ages 11-18, with a focus on entrance exam preparation for overseas students and GCSE and A level preparation.

Tutoring Approach

I specialise in preparing students for school entrance exams, mainly for higher end schools at 13+ and 16+ entrance points.
I usually work with my students twice per week, but this is altered depending on needs of the student. I always prefer to start preparation for A levels and GCSEs as early as possible, this means starting tutoring earlier in the course rather than waiting until near to the point of exams. In my experience, the earlier preparation starts, the better the outcome and the less stress for the student.
