I am a young writer of poetry and prose living in Brighton. I have a Ba Honours degree from the University of East Anglia where I did my dissertation in creative writing. I have the highest qualifications in English Literature up to college level and I received full marks for all my exams in Literature during college.
I spent three months working for an NGO in Bolivia where I devised and ran reading, writing and communication workshops for young adults with learning disabilities. In high school I spent my work experience in a reception class for 2 weeks and helped the children with their reading and writing. In year six in primary school I was asked by the head teacher to assist the children in year two with their reading and would sit with them once a week for a term, one on one, and we would work our way through books together. In an orphanage in Kashmir I ran games and drama workshops with the teenagers for a month in 2010.
A student will always make their learning style clear, and evidence how best a tutor can aid them with the learning process. My focus will be helping them with their homework, preparing them for exams, following their curriculum and also supplying them with the freedom to explore some of the things that come up in the classroom in an open environment in order to reinforce their understanding and, hopefully, generate interest in the subject. The idea is to constructively lead them to their own conclusions and ensure they do so in a way that will benefit them academically.
