I am a full-time secondary Maths teacher in the Oxford. I have a first class degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London (3rd in UK league tables), graduating in 2016. I have been tutoring maths for 5 years, with experience in a range of ages and abilities. I strongly believe that every student can succeed in mathematics, and in my experience it is lack of confidence which is the most significant barrier to success. My tutoring style is friendly and enthusiastic, encouraging a safe environment for students to ask those questions which they may be conscious about asking in the classroom.
As well as mathematics I am also passionate about music. I play the flute, saxophone and piano, and with a performance scholarship I completed the first year of undergraduate study for BMus honours at Guildhall School of Music and Drama 2012-13. before deciding to leave and pursue a more academic degree at Imperial College London.
I have experiencing teaching one-to-one music for 8 years, and tutoring maths for 5 years. I have been a full-time teacher for three years, having gained QTS through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. I have incredibly strong mathematical knowledge, with a first class degree from a top-ranking university. I am familiar with the the content required for students to achieve any target grade at GCSE and A-level maths, and have extensive experience adapting tuition to meet students' individual needs.
My enthusiastic approach engages students in their studies, and I feel passionately about building their confidence in the subject as well as simply increasing their knowledge. I also feel it is very important to tailor each of my sessions to the individual student's needs to make the most out of every tutoring session.
