I am a first year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Manchester providing me with an intricate knowledge of physics and mathematics in the context of engineering and chemistry. I have completed my GCSEs and A-levels and have achieved high results in a variety of exam boards. In History GCSE, I specialise in the Crime and Punishment, Whitechapel, Anglo-Saxon and Norman England and American West Units on the Edexcel exam board. In History A-level, I specialise in 1C The Tudors: England, 1485–1603 and 2Q The American Dream: reality and illusion, 1945–1980 units on the AQA exam board. In Religious Studies GCSE, I specialise in AQA Christianity and Islam. I can teach any any exam board for Mathematics GCSE and I specialise in AQA Combined Science GCSE.

Tutoring Experience

I have attained 200+ private tutoring hours alone. I have a lot of mentoring experience from extra-curricula programmes designed to build leadership and tutoring skills. This was primarily in mathematics and history clubs aimed for students to be helped with their higher-achieving peers. I would assist pupils with homework they were struggling with or topics they could not quite grasp yet in lessons. I have also attended masterclasses and completed courses on effective tutoring, notably Lisa Tran's masterclasses and the Effective Online Tutoring course by the University of Oxford.
Overall, I am always committed to growing and developing my skills/experience to provide the best service I can to my students.

Tutoring Approach

Everybody is a different learner and my teaching style accommodates this. I use an adaptive method to combine various scientifically proven techniques in studying and teaching to suit each individual student. This is discovered through communicating with my students about what works for them and what doesn't, ensuring their tutoring is unique to them.

The lessons I provide have a straightforward structure. The 'opening' begins with a relaxed chit-chat to develop the student-tutor relationship. It consists of a breakdown of the past week's events in school, particularly in the subject we're tackling and a recap of what we have covered in the previous session. This then leads on to an introduction of the session's topic and learning objectives. Majority of the session is spent covering the topic and practising the skills associated. The lesson ends with an opportunity to ask any last questions and a demonstration of the student's understanding of what we have learnt. Additional resources and activities are then assigned to secure my pupil's understanding until our next lesson. In-person lessons include a £5 travel fee per session.
