Happy to tutor anywhere in the Exeter area.
Ofsted have rated me as an outstanding teacher of English every time I have been observed. I am a fully qualified, enhanced CRB checked Secondary Teacher of English with eight years experience in mixed, mainstream schools. I believe every student requires personalised and precisely targeted tuition in a calm, friendly environment. My aim is always to build a strong relationship with every student by getting to know them as a person, as well as their academic strengths and areas to improve.
I have a 2:1 degree in English Literature and Philosophy and a PGCE in Secondary English with Media: both from Exeter University. I also studied postgrad Creative Writing at Oxford University.

Tutoring Experience

10 years tutoring experience.

10 years teaching English- years 7-13. All abilities- A*-F (9-1) grade targets.

Have taught Edexcel and AQA syllabuses, including the new AQA GCSEs, AS and A levels.

Also: Functional skills. (AQA), IGCSE (AQA), AS/A2 English Literature. (AQA), AS/A2 Creative Writing.(AQA)

I have worked as an exam marker for AQA at both GCSE and A level.
