Hi, I'm Anna. An extremely vibrant and experienced tutor with a great sense of humour, passion for the subject and an outstanding reputation for results.
If students didn’t like English before they came to me, I can crack the hardest critic!
I provide lessons that are interesting and thought provoking I guarantee that there is nothing dull about my lessons.
I have tutored many local students, their friends and extended families over the years. It has been a great pleasure to help young people on their way.
Here are some schools I have tutored students to pass exams for. Brampton, Wellington ,Reston, St Mary’s,Sutton Grammar .Repton, Abbotsholme and Trent college. I included this to show my adaptability and also the breadth of my considerable experience .

I am exceptionally au fait with all methodology and exam boards at a huge variety of schools.

A fully engaged student can and often has increased by 2 grades under my tutelage.
Many establishments send pupils to me for resits and this enables me to refocus the pupil and concentrate with huge focus on the weakness area in the prior paper.

I offer GCSE English from year 7 to 11, mainly at AQA and Edexcel . Additionally i have vast experience of WJEC , IGCSE, IGCSe C510 ESLand International exams.

Online lessons are vary interactive as we share the screen, we can plan and edit together, parents can observe the lesson and see learning in action.

I love my job. My rapport with my students and parents is very important to me.
As a professional tutor I am required to protect us both I operate a cancellation and notice period to ensure we both take our responsibilities seriously. I send this out for agreement prior to lesson commencement.
I enjoy helping students to improve planning and structure.
I give excellent feedback to parents too. Pupils take to me because I understand them and I can see how best to help them to learn.

Tutoring Experience

I am a fully qualified teacher with 18 years of private tuition expertise
*I have developed materials for schools to help with exam boosting and I have my own methodology for this.
^ I am an AQA examiner and exam expert.
* I have taught many groups in AQA fastrack
There is is a high level of demand for boosting both confidence and academic success outside of the school environment.
For me, planning is the key to success.
Exams I am familiar with are GCSE exams, particularly AQA, and the 11+ entrance .I am extremely keen on creative writing and showing my students how to create a concise, highly imaginative and thought provoking piece of work for their exams.
In literature I teach a huge variety of classic’s.
The ubiquitous Christmas carol, Inspector calls, Macbeth and other Shakespeare plays. Animal farm, To kill a mockingbird, Lord of the Flies ,Frankenstein and Of Mice and Men plus many, many more including Power and conflict or Love and relationships poetry. All texts at Key stage 3.

Tutoring Approach

My LESSONS. I am a very enthusiastic and positive person which affects my pupils as they immediately take to me and are inspired by positivity.
You don’t HAVE to love English in order to pass ! Just knowing the exact steps to take is essential. Learning how a paper is marked and what EXACTLY is needed to gain those marks is the key to success.
And for pupils looking for those higher marks, we look at use of technical features, vocabulary and metaphor. We craft a high level piece that can be replicated.
I dont teach no canera lessons. Having a canera on is an integral part of my lessons.
I give bi- weekly feedback to parents which includes suggestions of ways they can help the student between lessons.

HOW ABOUT PAYMENT, CANCELLATION AND NOTICE PERIOD?
All my lessons are weekly,I don’t offer bi- weekly lessons.
Payment is in advance or on the day not in arrears.
I have to charge for late cancellations within 24 hours for fairness to me.
Please allow two weeks to end a period of tuition to allow continuity of our lesson content.
