I am a qualified and experienced secondary English teacher, with a BA in English Literature and Philosophy. I have been trained under one of the best graduate recruiters - Teach First - and as a result of my passion for teaching, I am completing a Masters in Education. I have been rated as an 'Outstanding' Teacher by both my employers and Ofsted, due to my creativity, patience and subject knowledge

I have over 6 years of tutoring experience with 100% pass rate.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in inner city schools both in the North and London, teaching from year 7-13. I have had extensive training and experience in covering the 1-9 GCSE curriculum across all exam boards.

I have been tutoring for over 6 years and have worked for reputable tuition companies in the past.

My classes have ranged abilities and I have had much training around teaching EAL (English as an additional language) and children with learning difficulties.

I have a proven track record for supporting my students to achieve their best. In my most recent results, all of my pupils have met or exceeded the expected levels of progress.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to foster a love of learning for the subject I teach. I thoroughly enjoy challenging pupils ways of thinking and get them to question writers motives as well as offering their own interpretation. Using relatable and current analogies is something of utmost importance for me, when teaching. I want students not only to understand the task at hand, but enjoy expressing their opinions in a way within the assessment framework.

For me, English is like being a detective - having a theory, searching for evidence and explaining how your evidence shows and supports your ideas.
