Hi, my name is Anisa and I'm a recent graduate in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford! I've been both the tutor and the tutee during my studies and can appreciate how much support a tutor can provide during the stressful times of GCSEs and A-Levels. I'm eager to help with your studies in Maths and Biology (A-Level/GCSE), and Chemistry (GCSE), and can also provide tuition or 11+ if needed.

I've been described in the past as friendly, patient, and great at teaching! My main aim is to help you feel comfortable with the subject and facilitate effective studying.

Tutoring Experience

My prior experience comes from tutoring GCSE students in-person during my time in sixth form and university. I'm also very experienced with working with young people, taking part in mentoring initiatives, summer schools, and open days whilst at university.

Tutoring Approach

Online GCSE Maths discount: In the run-up to exams, I'm temporarily lowering my prices from £25 to £18 for online sessions with Year 11 students!

During my GCSEs and A-Levels, my independent studying involved identifying any gaps in understanding, ensuring comprehension of the entire specification, and lots of practice! Through this, I achieved straight A*s in both my GCSEs and A-Levels (Maths, Biology, Chemistry). My approach to tutoring follows along the same lines, particularly focusing on areas of confusion and difficult concepts that may have hindered the student's progress. Furthermore, we can tackle past paper questions and work through any issues immediately, helping the student to become more comfortable when studying by themselves. In general however, as a tutor I'm flexible and willing to design and adapt each lesson to the student's needs. I can also provide resources for independent revision at the end of each lesson and use specification checklists to make sure every topic is understood.

My lessons are 60 minutes in length and are available for students in any year group in secondary school or sixth form, as well as Year 6 students for 11+ exam preparation.
