With a 2:1 degree in Economics from Reading (2009) I have been tutoring for over 4 years now. Having started with just one student I have gone on to teach over 20 students (from multiple sites) across Reading, Wokingham and Maidenhead.
Unlike other tutors I only specialise in the subject which I am qualified in and this is Economics. I have taught students across Edexcel, OCR & AQA with good success with students as my feedback shows.
Students come with different requirements from wanting to improve their grade in their final A-level year, facing resists, never having studied Economics before and struggling but I work hard with the student to improve their confidence and boost their grade.
Economics is very much a subject where you need to grasp the basics in order to understand - in both Macro and Micro.
I believe its Important to get to know the student first and build a rapport.
Lessons are entirely guided by the student and I can cover whatever topic they would like. I am flexible on times and can always normally fit a last minute lesson in if needs be.
I try to avoid a teacher vs student relationship and try to encourage the student to think of me as more of a peer so they are comfortable asking whatever questions they have
