Information About Andrew - Woking tutor - (2 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Andrew:
I am a chemistry teacher at a top boys school in Surrey. Before I got into teaching I was a postdoctoral researcher at a world leading research University. I have three children, a 12 yr old girl, a 9 yr old boy and an 18 month old little girl. I hugely enjoy helping students understand the subject that I love and have been told that I am very good at explaining complex scientific principles in a way that is easy and fun to understand.
I have been teaching at secondary schools for 3 years, teaching science at key stage 3, chemistry biology and physics at GCSE and Chemistry at A level. Before I entered the teaching profession I had been tutoring A-level (EDEXCEL and AQA) and degree level chemistry for 4 years since finishing my PhD. During my research career I also provided tuition and practical demonstration work to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
My approach to tutoring is focused on enabling students to achieve their potential, providing experrt advice on revision techniques as well as helping students understand the key concepts that are covered by each exam board. I am easy going, patient and determined to provide the best tuition I can.If I feel that my usual approach to explaining a particular concept is not working then I will try to explain it from a different angle until the topic is clearly understood. I am particularly adept at preparing students for exams.
