Thank you for taking time to view my profile. I have taught Maths for the past eight years within colleges. I teach Functional Skills and GCSE to young adults and more mature students. I really enjoy teaching all abilities and engaging with students to help them achieve their goal. When I am teaching and helping the students, it is a wonderful feeling when you see their confidence and abilities grow. Teaching and learning are an enjoyable and rewarding experience for both myself and the learner.

Tutoring Experience

When I worked within a primary school, I worked from Y1 to Y6 supporting learners in small groups preparing them for SATs in English and Maths. My role primarily was to work with learners who required interventions. I currently work within a college delivering many aspects or KS2, KS3 and KS4 as well as Functional Skills and GCSE Maths.

Maths is used every day. Understanding the development needs of the learners is key. To allow learners to watch, practice and then demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge and maths skills is so rewarding. My aim is to give learners confidence by plugging the missing gaps and allowing them to develop their skills further. This can be with primary, secondary, college or adult learners.

I have worked with large and small groups and 1:1 students. I aim to give leaners a positive experience that will help them develop their skills.

Tutoring Approach

Teaching from age four upwards I adapt my teaching to the needs of the learner. Each learner is unique and will learn in a variety of ways. Positive learning leads to positive results and this will allow the learners to increase their confidence. To show progression and development I use individual assessments, this allows me to offer personalised support.
