This is how 2 referees rated Amelia:
Hi there, I'm Amelia, a doctoral candidate who has taught at the University of Liverpool, created courses for Continuing Education and worked in a secondary school in central Bedfordshire. I have also given lessons privately for 10 years alongside my other teaching roles.
I have a track record of success, taking C grade students to an A simply by listening, identifying obstacles and working with students to overcome the areas holding them back.
10 years' tutoring and teaching experience GCSE to Masters level
Conduct private lessons both online and in person
Experience teaching in a secondary school
Experience lecturing in a university
Have worked with students with dyslexia and dyspraxia
I have worked with numerous students on coursework preparation and the re-drafting process, exam preparation, revision skills, textual analysis (inc. poetry) and creative writing.
Tutoring differs from in-class teaching in that it offers students the chance to have the complete focus of an expert in their field. When I work with a student I cater solely to his/her needs and can pick out issues that may otherwise have gone unnoticed. I then work with the student to resolve any issues, rather than dictating to him/her, and help to uncover genuine interest in the subject along the way.
Please note: In order to keep things running smoothly, I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Thanks!

Made my daughter grow confident in her English.
Unfortunately, Amie felt that the journey here was too time-consuming and, in fairness, 40 mins each way for a one hour session is unrealistic.
In short, Amie is a fabulous teacher, especially for a child who lacks confidence and motivation. I would have no hesitation in recommending her.
