About me...
I am a qualified Psychology teacher with 24 years experience teaching in Sixth Form Colleges and FE Colleges in Lancashire, having a senior management role including leading a successful department. I am also a Psychology Examiner having worked with all exam boards (CIE, OCR, IB, Edexcel and AQA) and have done so for the past 16 years. I have an honours degree in Psychology with Biology (University of Liverpool) and a Masters in Psychology (University of Central Lancashire).
Having managed a successful department and taught Psychology for so many years I am extremely familiar with each exam board specification and their assessment criteria. I have vast knowledge of the content and understand the assessment objectives (AO1, AO2 and AO3) which will help students achieve their full potential. I am happy to provide support for any Psychology exam board specification. I have revision materials available for free online but can offer more exam focused resources throughout my lessons, to help students achieve a high grade in Psychology. In addition to the 1:1 online sessions, I provide extra support via marking and feedback with an emphasis on exam success.
I have been teaching Psychology A-Level since 2001 and have worked with students from all backgrounds aged 16+ years. I welcome students from both the UK and abroad studying at International schools, having experience teaching Edexcel International and teaching and marking CIE International.
I am also available to provide support for the Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ) and Personal Statement writing for UCAS applications.
All of my tuition is carried out on a 1:1 basis via video link (Skype/ Microsoft Teams), giving students an extensive lesson face to face. I have a structured yet friendly approach and always want the best for my students.
In addition to the weekly lessons I offer students the chance to receive feedback on their exam skills and technique through my additional homework and marking package. Many students take advantage of this during the exam period to build confidence and prepare for those final exams (additional fees are charged for the extra time this takes). Feedback from students tells me it helps build their skills and ensures they are completing exam questions in line with the assessment objectives.
As well as the weekly session, I am available by email at anytime should they have any questions. Please see my feedback and do not hesitate to get in touch for more information.
Available for lessons between Monday - Friday (9am-7pm) during term time (no holidays)
Please note I do not work weekends.
All sessions are allocated on a first come first served basis each year. Copies of my payment information, marking package and cancellation policy will be emailed separately. Lessons are available via video or audio (student preference).
I am also available to mark full exam papers and provide feedback via email, this is charged at the same hourly rate.
Please note: International (outside the UK) student fees may differ slightly.
