I am a student focused friendly, and very experienced specialist Science teacher of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I have been Head of Science and an AQA exam marker.
I offer in person or online lessons and will build students confidence, knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Triple OR Combined science curriculum. I support students to develop the essential skills required to understand and answer exam questions to gain more marks. For online lessons I have software that allows me to share my screen to show my teaching resources and students have a whiteboard where they can write answers which I feedback on and the students can access their work later. Students do not need to have cameras on.
I have more than 28 years experience of teaching Combined Science and Separate Sciences to KS3 and 4 (aged 11 to16) students. I have been an exam marker for the AQA and also led Science in several schools. I am enthusiastic, dedicated, knowledgeable and approachable. Experience as an exam marker for the AQA and attending exam board training has provided me with insight into how to prepare for science exams and help students learn to answer questions in GCSE exams to gain as many marks as possible.
Friendly, approachable, dedicated and student focused. I am keen to help students grow in confidence and increase subject knowledge and vocabulary. We will also explicitly practice answering exam questions and how to effectively revise in order to achieve or exceed target grades. Practice exam questions and revision quizzes will be provided for additional practice at no extra charge.
I can teach in the daytime on Wednesdays and Fridays during term time subject to availability.
