I am an experienced primary teacher and I speak French and German fluently.
I have also practised as a solicitor and have legal training.
I like to make teaching as interesting and relevant as possible, so that it can be fun!
I have recently left a primary teaching post to allow myself more flexibility, but still very much enjoy teaching.
I have three children, two of whom have completed university and one, who has just started university. They have all required assistance with a variety of subjects over the years from their Mum- which I have been glad to give, most recently a Law MA!
I have taught primary, secondary (French, German and Spanish, and Law) and further education over the years, with my most recent experience being primary.
I have tutored children in a variety of subjects, mainly maths and English
I run language clubs for primary children in French and Spanish- based on singing and games.
My belief is that for tutoring to succeed it must engage the learner. I try and make my lessons as interesting and relevant as possible, looking not only at the subject matter, but also any problems with learning itself.
I am encouraging, whilst also expecting appropriate effort from the learner. I like to be able to communicate with the parent so that they are aware of their child's progress and can be as involved as they wish.
