Personal Description:

I am a 5th year medical student at Oxford. During my third year I specialised in Neuroscience and was also able to publish research I undertook for a lab project. This has helped my ability to critique and analyse scientific literature and I am very willing to help people who are having difficulties in this area.

I have a keen interest in science and maths and how they relate to the everyday world around us. This gives me a strong base from which to teach these subjects, which can often be presented in a very dry manner, in a more engaging and memorable way.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience providing a wide range of tuition. Recently I have been helping candidates prepare for the BMAT and with university work. I have also helped people out with personal statements and university applications, averaging over 4 offers for those I assisted. I realise that the application process can be daunting and am keen to use my own experience to help others.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer to work in an exam focused manner going through practice questions and then addressing any issues that arise either with exam technique or subject understanding. The simplest approach is usually the best.

The first session will consist of going through the syllabus for the relevant exam board and highlighting areas to target. This will be followed by several practice questions, allowing me to decide, with you, on the teaching style that suits you best. From then on we will systematically address each area of weakness in turn with a focus on maximising exam performance.

Ultimately these sessions are about maximising your time and effort and I hope to engage with you in a manner that allows this.
