Home Tuition for Maths and Physics in Windsor

I have recently moved up to Edinburgh to start my job as a research chemist for an energy storage company. My passion for science and engineering was developed at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. Molecular engineering is basically a chemical engineering degree with a focus on molecular scale interactions to solve modern issues. Before university I studied at Eton College. As well as studying full course loads throughout university and high school, I was a student athlete, balancing my studies with 20 hours of practices a week, so if you are looking to learn time management skills or study strategies I can share my experience.

Tutoring Experience

I began tutoring in July for Education Boutique, a private tutoring company based around Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. I chose to pursue tutoring as it is something I relied upon throughout my education and allowed flexibility while I searched for a full time position. I have tutored all of the sciences and mathematics for children from middle school level up to students aiming for 8/9 on the GCSE, with the majority of my children already significantly improving their results within the initial few months.

Tutoring Approach

I don't believe that there is an effective broad approach to tutor sciences or maths so I try to find ways to engage the children with the material in a way that makes it more applicable to the world around them. However, the majority of science and mathematics is pattern based and once children appreciate this their confidence tends to improve dramatically, the issue that is most common to all children struggling with analytical subjects.
