I am a native Italian speaker and I've been teaching Italian privately since 2004, both face-to-face and on Zoom.
I currently work as a Curriculum Manager in an Adult College in East London.
I also set up a company which promotes all things Italian, Passione Italiana which offers free videos, trips to Italy, downloadable activity booklets, webinars, reference books on Amazon, and much more!
I was born in Milan from an English mother and I am fascinated by the curious links between Italian and English.
I am passionate about my culture and heritage and can't wait to share this with you!

Tutoring Experience

I've been teaching Italian privately since 2004, both face-to-face and on Zoom. I have the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, as well as the Level 4 Assessor Certificate. I also hold the TEFL certificate and Literacy and numeracy both at Level 2. This helps me support students as I fully understand what learning a new language means.
I know Italian and English grammar very well and understand the importance of helping learners with understanding parts of speech, verb tenses, etc, whilst also building their vocabulary and confidence in Italian. I have also planned and delivered various 1-day workshops on Italian grammar and on English grammar aspects which are essential if you are learning another language.
I have also taught large groups but I specialise in 1-2-1 tuition and teaching couples/pairs of friends.

Tutoring Approach

I am very patient and love to see my students achieve! I am in a very fortunate position of being able to promote Italy and Italian to people who love them as much as I do!
Over the years I have built up a wealth of materials and resources which I share with my students. I am keen for the lessons to be structured so, after an initial chat where I ascertain their level and needs, I can guide my students on the path to fluency. Oh, and there will be homework! (although I totally understand that we all live busy lives, so it's no big deal if you cannot complete them one week!).
